To the hum of tapping imbedded in my soul
drowns out the dark to bring out the whole
curved in full and then etched in light
woven in sigils and poured in the night
Parchment of silken to crimson slide
the drumming delves trails bringing tears to my eyes
Pressed onward I weep yet hold still and brace
my trembling exhalted, my triumph to taste
Heat flays my skin, I bow to the Master
my weakness is wanton (I wish he’d go faster!)
on pounds the drum heard only in my ear
sweet bidden agony screams as if years
Humming the litany of lineage so ancient
I am as thousands, yet One as is painted
For when the drumming will one day cease
will I reveal my etchings in Crimson Tribal Ink.
