~We Live On~

Warm arms embrace as I look in his face, warmth
to those eyes that have glazed mine own
he squeezes me tightly, head bent,
lips graze my neck to travel
lightly in kisses as he whispers in my ear:
“My love, be not afraid, for I will be waiting for you on the other side”
A caress to my cheek, he jumps from the Cliffside…..
And flown is he, my love
on wings of dark and gems of untold worth
aloft, he flies and darts in unseen freedom
the symphony of him resounds infinitely
as I, alone and afraid
remain
I wake in modern day
sweating in cool night upon sheets
unraveled; thunderstorms raging
my heart aching for what is gone,
what has left……
what is not (at least in this day, this age)
lives touch, love goes
and still I have not met “him” in this lifetime;
touched his skin, felt his heat
even now, I wonder
if I ever will
I waited too long to see
I waited too long to understand
“My love, we live on…..and now, I am unafraid to fly…..”

Yeah, one of those....
