Ephemeral touches in between
the kiss of now and then
curl upon the tapestry of lovers
as the threads tighten upon time’s
loom, we are woven again
eternal
asleep, he smiles
lashes laid against the kissed cheek
of my love of lifetimes
what care I that he be not alone?
he is loved; it is enough for me
regret for what we were never to share
tastes bitter to my tongue,
he frowns as if hearing my thoughts
and I sigh breathless kisses
to his brow
I have found him, this love of eternal
in a world that would bar us from touch
in fleshed passions and reveal
the paths of always
his path parallel to mine own
he murmurs and reaches out to me
and I am awash in the longing of
his unspoken dream-speak,
the thrum of his heart whispers
to mine beating in sync
I lay upon his bed, no imprint there
but his warmth felt impressing me
to stay longer than I dare, his arm
to curl where I would be, he nuzzles
where my flesh would quiver
and I would love....
reluctant to take my leave, I
watch for as if eons more
and sigh, hoping that his choice
in this world is ME
