Faol Dreams

Straining, she tears at her clothes
the itch just beneath her skin
the need to feel blood boiling
whispers her terrifying sin
“Not right” they whisper in shadows
“Loner” they jeer in her face
but none know her true secret
if they did they’d run from this place
Aloft, the Queen rises to glory
and calls to her brethren that sing
as primal the woman reveals all
to feel the moonlight take wing
Yet earthen she rumbles savage
as teeth bare down to fang
her nails reach out to darken
her arms to ripple dark stain
clothing now fully torn
she reaps her secret full blown
as her lips call to her lover
does she cast her faol gown
Sniffing the air she quivers
and turns to admire her tail
then suddenly catches a sniff
of Alpha, preferably male
Dark and majestic does he strut
the Alpha to his mate
nipping her hind in welcome
licking as she whines and waits
Then barking a command of run
they take stride in the wood of man
dodging the roots of always
capturing the essence of land
Freedom finds the lovers
once loners in the light of day
to be true mates of faol
loving in midnight this way
And when daybreak is close
do they, the faol do cry
for daylight hides the lovers
until truth does turn the eye
For beauty is not in the flesh
of which man does truly believe
but lives and breathes in the soul
where magick always breathes.
