I miss you

So many years have passed since I lost you
Most things have changed since you went away
No one is the same person as they use to be
That's life- ever changing, ever becoming different
I have grown up since you were here
I no longer am the person that I was
I am stronger and my own person
I miss you so very much it hurts
I knew you are in a better place and are probably happier
I miss the days when we sat talked, played, and shared banana splits
I remember the last day I seen you
You were lying in bed, and I could not come any farther then the front door because I could not move
I now regret not coming to your bedside like everyone else
I blame myself for not being able to tell you how much
I loved you and how much you meant to me
You were my world, protecter, and friend
You taught me so much about life in the few short years that I spent with you
You were the warm place to go in the winter
The shelter from the storm
It has been 8 in a half years and the memories are still clear as the day they happened
It still hurts that you are not here to spend time with or to see me graduate
I know you are sitting up there in bibs fishing on the banks of a creek. looking down at me
I still wonder if you know how very much I love you and how I miss you so
Author's Notes: This is dedicated to my great grandmother
Lovda Irene Crowell ( Grandma Love) who passed away in 1995
I wrote this on July 18th, 2004
