Guardianship

Again, crystalline spires gleam and sparkle.
Violet-hued, rose and blues so iridescent
the eyes tear.
Seen to the rock face he turns to me -
this Priest so dark
and reaching out clasps my hand to his;
fingers entwined lovingly secure,
he calms my denial with a touch.
Childish whim falls to the wayside,
fears ungrounded.
Leading me yet side by side
thru solid rock - a tunnel of colors,
sights and sounds, erotic and sensual
to the senses;
my daughter skips ahead
unknowingly through chambers towards
a destination heard only within her heart;
I pause.
He leads me within the fourth chamber
to lie upon soft skins
flesh upon flesh,
a burgeoning sound of joy given voice
and encompassing white-hot emotion -
the Lady's gift blooms.
Bending to a will not my own
I seek refuge within his arms
only to find my future and my fate.
Seen in my mind's eye a broken promise shared,
He gives me what no other may.
Childish laughter
echoes in the well of his heart and mine
and the Gift is passed from one to another.
A guardianship from the Divine,
heart and mind are one and the contract is made;
the Gift passed on.
A call comes from deep within
I step away from him - my Priest,
my path deepens with colors shifting.
Each footpad takes me further from him
And my heart.
Leaden soul, I turn - yet he retreats to his own.
Squaring and centering myself,
I move beyond him -
my own child running ahead,
dancing to sounds unheard.
She beckons me forward to her
and clasping her hand; our fingers entwined
We are gone.
