Winter Blessings..

The Roads are slick, all covered with ice.
But the smell of fresh popcorn smells so nice.
In the kitchen, with fuzzy slippers on her feet,
My wife stands by the stove, soaking up the heat.
The corn she is popping is not for her, and isn't for me,
But rather to string garland outside on our Yule Tree.
Every Yule we wrap the tree in strings of red and white,
To remind us of the Lady and Lord and their loving light.
Then we put up balls made with peanut butter and seed,
To give our critter friends a snack that they might need.
We do this today, remembering what was done in days of old,
So we put on our boots and coats to brave winters cold.
Each year we walk out into winters wonderland,
As songs pour from our hearts, by the Yule tree we stand.
Filled with happiness, joy and good cheer,
We are wishing to all a blessed new year.
