No Control

Reaching for what I have lost
I forget what I still have.
Knowing that I could lose all and more,
I retreat.
The past is miles between us
with the future standing before me.
Not looking back, not pining for love lost
I begin my journey of self.
Alone but not lonely
others I find upon the path.
Their lives entwine with mine briefly
like hands touching fleetingly and removed.
Karmic law possesses me now
as I see the connection to dream
and visions - reality is all one
and the same.
Knowing that a change is before me -
terrifying events that will destroy
the last vestiges of my tower -
those that hold their hearts within my grasp
will remove themselves willingly
and for all time.
It will be.
And as I sit and fear the anger
I revel in the freedom behind the losses.
Perverse creature that I am,
I continue to let the universe take control
and let it all happen.
