Remember You

The sunrise drowned me in its light
As though I were remorseful
Had I not loved the scent of distant
Enveloping dark
Beach sand beneath me curls
My toes dig deeply in
Grounded am I forever
Refuted not in the wind
Whisper of deeds left undone
Laugh into redemption
Seize the right time to love
Send all of yourself to me
Remember when I fell upon you
Cornered in the room
I looked upon you and I swooned
Sighing at break of moon
Candles burned alight in flame
Though wick had yet to reclaim
Fuel to burn on in night
As I pilfered it all for you
Nothing but my heart can show
My face in happiness true
Forever I laugh and ever I vow
I shall remember you
