Oceana and Seth of Tagriel

by Seth
 Age Group: Adult

PART I
In a distant, ancient, far off land Of beautiful oases and golden sand
Lays a city that few knew well The old city-state known as Tagriel It is here that lived a mortal man Who hailed from a prestigious, noble clan
With love he lived an honorable life While by the sword, he’s inflicted with strife For war and death he knew to well As his fate, he could easily foretell
But mostly this was far from thought For a persistent dream is what he sought A maiden that he hopes to one day find As it’s thoughts of her that occupy his mind
While in his dreams he finds her here It’s wide awake that she’s nowhere near So with the Gods blessings he left his home Searching for his love, in these lands he roamed
Endless days and sleepless nights He travels on, his love still far from sight Lonely nights and depressing days Has become his life, has become his ways
For rumors he finds in the land he goes As it’s her, the whole world knows A fair maiden, honest and true With a beauty that the whole world knew
Troubled with the fact that it’s only rumors he finds He now thinks that maybe she’s just a rumor of his mind Of the years searching without much luck A crippling blow to his heart is struck
Not knowing the direction to now make his way It’s to the Goddess of love he begins to pray “Goddess please, with your aid let me know Where it is in this world that I should go”
“For I would sacrifice my life in a battling fray Just to have the chance to find her one day” It’s now in a divine vision that came to him Which showed him the land that his soulmate is in
He boards a ship to cross the sea Heading toward the city-state known as Misty It’s here that he hopes to one day find That persistent dream of his heart and his mind
The story begins with a message that all should know A true love will be with you where ever you go.
PART II
In a beautiful rich town of the upper northeast Just on the border of ancient Rome and ancient Greece
There lived a maiden, Fair, Honest, and True Who had a rumored beauty that the whole world knew With love and goodness in her heart, she lived her life While many of men tried and failed to make her their wife
She grew up with a thought in her mind That occupied her fantasies and her time Wide awake, but yet fast asleep It’s in her dreams she finds the love she seeks
A Kind and Caring, and Gentle man A traveler from a distant far off land She prays to the Gods for her dreams to be For her lover’s hand, she hopes to see
Harsh winter days and soft summer nights She stands at the gate, hoping he’ll soon be in sight Lonely nights and depressing days Has become her life, has become her ways
For tears and pain is all she finds As now she feels her lover, is only in her mind Years have passed and fears set in For now she feels, she will never see him
Soon grief and sorrow gripped the town The day they found her lifeless on the ground They carried her to the field where she played Back in those innocent childhood days
In a startling moment she opened her lovely eyes Some say, to speak her final words before she dies “When he comes, please don’t let him know That I left this land before he could show”
“Just leave a message for him to one day know And no matter what, tell him I still love him so” With a smile and a drawn sigh She passes with the closing of her eyes
To a better place she now does go In hopes that her lover will soon now show With a broken heart she lays on the ground As now the town folk stand without a sound
It’s in the soil of the dark rich ground They lay her to rest, just outside the far wall of town And where she does now lay, a marker does now stand So she will be found by, her lover from the distant far off land
The story is sad, but with a message clear to say A true love will be with you till your dying day
PART III
“To Arms!” “To Arms!” was the town scouts call As the men and boys ran to arm the walls
The sword men sharpen their swords; the bowmen string their bows The spearmen grab their spears, while they waited for their foes While all the streets stood quiet, quieter then any other night As the whole town readied for a violent and bloody fight
Right behind the city gate, stood just one man That came to here, from a distant far off land With a shield at his front and his axe by his side He gazed around with a fearsome look that made all who seen it, run and hide
The town knew him as Seth of Tagriel, from across the sea Who came here in search of his love, that would make him happy People say the only time you could hear him speak Was when he was in the dreamlands fast asleep
They say they heard him speak of the Gods, and fights from long ago And of an Oceana, who’s beauty the whole world should know It’s rumored that he traveled near and far in these lands But without the luck of ever finding her lovely hand
So now he stands ready to die, amidst the battling fray For an army of thousands arrive, on the field this day He stands ready to fight for his new home As now the Thirty Cities declared war with Rome
The commander’s horns filled the evening air As Seth opened the gates and stood with his fearful stare The enemy troops crest the top of the hill While Seth raised his axe, and stood very still
Then the enemy horns came blasting once again As the enemy lines began charging in And from the town walls arose joyous shouts When Seth of Tagriel came charging out
The archers of the wall sent a volley to help clear the way As Seth of Tagriel clashed within the glorious fray A swinging of his axe cut men down A river of blood now soaks into the ground
Panic and fear gripped the enemy array As fast as they charged in, they charged out of the fray Over the hills the enemy did crest Heading to their homes in the far distant west
And from the field, the brave man came Back to the city with glory and fame With a weak grip, he dropped his weapons to the ground As now the people stood, without a sound
Dying from his wounds he dropped to his knees While the town folk turned out to hear his pleas “I lived my life searching for her, but did not find her near” “I now know that where I go I will definitely find her here”
And with his last and dying breath His love for her he did confess And soon his eyes shut, never to open again Sad were all the woman, and sad were all the men
But the truth in his words they did know For a secret they had, they never did show A grave that stood outside the far wall of town In a place that Seth of Tagriel never really found
On the marker it states: “Seth I want you to know, In this life we missed each other, but I still love you so” The story my friends, is coming to an end With a message that I’ve been trying to send
No matter what conflict can come about Love will find a way to always work out
PART IV
Land of eternal summer, where life comes to renew With fields of lovely green, and a sky of beautiful blue
It’s here in this very ancient Summerland That a beautiful soul has come to stand She waited for her true love, till her dying day For it is this willing sacrifice, she had to pay
Arriving now, in this most peaceful place Her eyes desire to look upon his face As it is a thought, she could wait for him here It’s the thought he never existed she has always feared
Scared and Inpatient to wait for him again For fear of a happiness she will never win Her life could have meaning, if she loved him, and believed he knows Then love him and wait to have him never show
Slowly opening her mouth, she begins to speak As a tear she sheds rolls down her cheek She glances toward the clouds, high above While she takes a step to find her one true love
“I’m determined to find you rather then wait For I truly believe that us meeting is our fate Where to start, I only wish I knew Where you are, I only wish I had a clue”
The land she will travel she does not know Her heart is her compass directing her where to go When her journey ends, it’s him she hopes to see For it’s in his arms, she truly wishes to be
Search these lands she will, high and low As somewhere in this land he is, and she knows Land of eternal summer, where life comes to renew With forests of beautiful green, and water of lovely blue
It’s here in this very ancient Summerland That a prestigious soul has come to stand His life was taken, amidst a battling fray For it is this noble sacrifice he had to pay
Arriving now in this land of peaceful rest His heart desires to continue his life’s long quest As it is a thought he could find her here It’s the thought she never existed he has always feared
Scared and weak to start his journey again For fear of a happiness he could never win His life could have meaning, if he loved her, and believed she’s around Then love her and have her nowhere to be found
Slowly opening his mouth, he begins to speak As a tear he sheds rolls down his cheek Closing his eyes, he crashes to the ground Imagining the maiden, to which he has never found
“It’s my thoughts of you, that kept me going through the years It was my determination to find you that led me here But to search this land, it’s something I ultimately fear For what do I do, if I do not find you here”
His heart was what directed him on his journey all along So now he questions if it was right, or if it was wrong To search no more he sits and waits, his journey incomplete Of the lands traveled and battles fought, it’s his fear that has him beat
But as fate would have it on this summers day A traveler of these lands, has discovered him where he lays He opens his eyes, to a shadow that was cast To see a beautiful maiden from dreams long past
He rises up to look upon her lovely face For now in each other’s arms, they finally embrace Together now they shall never be apart As true love they felt in each other’s hearts
The story ends, with one more message to know If in search of your soulmate, you wish to go Fear can be difficult when it forms in ones mind Just keep hope with you, because love will conquer in time
Four lessons I give, four lessons you’ll have when we part Use them well if a journey for love is what you start To find your soul’s mate, it’s the hardest thing to do But much happier you’ll be, if their love you knew
So remember these lessons and forget them never For a soul mate’s love will last forever
Author's Notes: I wrote these pomes in stages starting with III, then II, I and finished with IV. I'm not sure of the real reason that this story came to me, just one day my muse wispered in my ear and this is what I wrote down...lol...after writing this feel a strong connection with the plot of the story in true love and looking for your soulmate...
