Eloquence

Syllables flow
your eloquence obvious,
A verbal seduction.
I wonder at your prose -
from where your depth has emerged....
knowing you as I do.
Chasms of pain
engorged by a fury directed at me.
Why?
Given a life of its own,
a mere sentence has erased whatever future
was ours.
Jealousy?
Or is your realization an illusion
on which you based your life?
Quandry?
Damned if you do or don't,
you will do as you will
yet spew your hatred at me?
Pain?
For what you cannot give me
emotionally unable to commit
yet physically urged to do so?
The power of your dictonomy ever present
stuns my soul.
I question it all,
knowing the situation
but the barrage of questions go unanswered.
I will never know the truth -
as eloquent as you put it.
And much to my surprise, I find that
neither will you.
Author's Notes: These are my feelings in response (finally written down) to the break-up of my marriage. It feels good to be able to examine it, accept it and release it.
