In the mere act

Age Group: Adult
In the mere act of putting ink to paper
Can I reveal myself to your eyes ?
Are these noises in my mind , the shapes of words ,
Drawn onto thin trees
Enough to create resonance in you of
The emotions and thoughts you bring forth
in me ?
Poetry and prose are very subjective experiences
Even if we spoke and thought in one language .
I can try ;
When you become near
Proximity precipitates Joy
Then you become dear
Closeness coalesces smiles coy
As I regret moments together lost
So I will steal time for you
Every pulse precious - delicious
I cannot care about their cost
The chances are for you too
To see in me what I see in you
To be what is not seen - yet
