I don't want to
by Cee Are

I don't want to be here
why should I
even try to pretend
that you even care
when it's plain
that enlightened self interest
is how you think of greed
I don't want to be here
when the price I pay every day
isn't worth the lives you've slaved
in a world of multi national corpse
where everything is for sale
nothing remains of true value
I don't want to be here
in a world of hurting need
instead of giving help
you think you can continue
to take , to make nothing of virtue
and still get paid
for what you've never given ;
a speck of respect
for anyone not already
doing your bidding ,
a moment of hope
to anyone not you or yours
I don't want to be here
where you've used fear to steal the freedoms
our ancestors paid for with their lives
I don't want to be here
in a world of laws and police
that only protect those
they cannot afford
to make criminal
I don't want to be here
where the life of any single being
in your eyes
is not worthy of your one true god
composed of one hundred false coins
so don't try to pretend
I know you lie .
