Long road

my twisted heart, ever so dark,
eyes closed and mind shutoff.
i try for a cleansing breath,
but, to no avail.
does love exist?
is there love for me?
when will i meet someone?
my heart is breaking.
solitude is my path.
a lonely, long path lies ahead.
no one to guide me,
no one to care.
i hold my head up,
i lift my eyes,
my strength will not fade.
i am a hero at heart,
my path is long.
Author's Notes: my path into wicca was an accident. i was involved with a mess marriage and knew that some hope was out there. i have since met a wonderful woman and i am very happy. some of my poetry comes from my past and does not reflect my bright future. blessed be
