Laying alone here

Laying alone here on my large and empty bed
I wish you were here I miss you
I know I've said that before
and if you move south
I'll probably say it for the rest of my life
I wish you were here I miss you
It's a saying wistful, cute and perhaps trite
It maybe will become words filled with
longing, sorrow and fear I hope not
The smell of your hair only faintly freshens my pillow
I wish you were here I miss you
The sheets are crisp and taunt
I'd rather they were mused and draped
about your limbs, your head nuzzled upon my chest
I wish you were here I miss you
I'd rather this evening of nice conversation, two fine dinners
and a wild and hilarious party had ended with a 'Thank You'
or a hug, maybe even a kiss goodnight
Something other than "Frack off" and a door
slammed in my face
I wish you were here I miss you
Are you so afraid of the emotions and affections
of the love that I offer
That you have to hurt me
to try to stop me from loving you ?
I won't work
I miss you I wish you were here I love you
