Just the merest

Just the merest whisper of a touch
And these heartstrings vibrate back to life
Quietly almost hopefully these tiny motes
Of sound careen around my souls
Seeking resonance with your hand
Which reached deftly and timorously within
My affections to create these notes
How can I help but respond
With scattered soft touches
A slow sojourn to evoke in you
The notes I clearly hear ringing softly
Reaching for embrace in arms for le petit demort
I devour your small kiss as if
It were a day and night of passion
As I grasp your hand, raise your fingers
To my lips
It is as if I have just kissed
The sweat from the base of your throat
After . . .
