Distancing imminent

Distancing imminent
for unclear reasons
a disappointment in developing
drags down day to dull and gray
I wonder is your chill a hesitation
Observing flickering sex on the silver screen
Exiting after to daylite and back to your street
words I fear to hear
blood drains from my face
ground shakes at my feet
with words torn from my throat trying to heal the breach
I spill tears into your palms
to mingle there with your own
With kisses and courage you pull me
back from the pain
With nine whispered words
"_._._._._._, I want you - to make - love, with me"
you change my life and our direction
Scrambling for a destination
Making and changing plans
all along the kaleidescope route
Making do with inferior Champagne
slightly queasy mostly giddy
like a pair of teenagers
doing something naughty
A bleeding wallet emptied and strange looks
at check in finding out later where all your
lipstick went unpacking and uncorking
undressing each other with tenderness
and unseemly haste \ eyes lingering
as your lovely flesh is revealed
Despite tension I rise to the occasion
chin chin in the bath losing the soap losing the barbs
watching after washing the steamy spray fly off your skin
Sliding between sheets inhaling Champagne and
your natural perfume with my lips
trying to kiss every millimeter of your body before
beginning the delightful task of learning to give
pleasure to our senses Embracing your shudders, sighs and gasps
Discovering _._._._. don't like ridges, gasps of small
pain mistaken for joy Recovering and beginning again
warm kisses and firm skin brushing up and down back and forth
feeling you climbing the tree again
warming a second set of sheets after
we unexpectedly begin again without a raincoat, for me
it is much better ( I like the rain )
Talking under sheets later trying not to touch so we can sleep
I fail and wake you by touching again and again
lying awake beside you backs touching
I reflect on the events of the day and wonder why every thing
as it did
A very strange flower unfolding into beauty
like a very large rose on a bush
with sharp thorns and verdant leaves
delicate petals and a heady intoxicating perfume
