An Elaborate Thank You
We encountered one another by happenstance
If we'd looked an other day
Lives would have run another way
Now a new me is so happy, I dance
Mere symbols on a flickering screen
How did we, feel it was not simply chance
How could we trust what, we seem
Now I don't even mind wearing pants
Our tales we both tell and hear
For the first time in too many years
One to converse with thru the tears
Now my joys touch all to clear
To a special friend, I extend
An Elaborate Thank You
What more can I send
It's too much, blushing anew
A steady voice when I was far from home
I read your words from the otherside
A simple blessing, to feel not so alone
Now none of us need be still to hide
Free to move within life's ties
Can you know the heights I'd try
To feel my sister has my back
Now I'm on a light filled tack
Your beauty illuminates many ways
An Elaborate Thank You
It will have to stand, for what we'd say
Breathing in ears, standing next to . . .
