Night Vision

I saw you, you know....
Under the cover of night
and hidden from view.
I watched your new life unfolding....
It gave me great joy
to watch your uninhibited laughter
knowing that you are
where you should be;
that you are happy, healthy,
safe and secure
where you are.
Don't think that I give you up easily,
or that my love for you
would never be enough to sustain you -
to sustain us.
What you have now
is far better than what I could give you
and
as I melted into the darkness,
I knew that my choice for your happiness
was well done.
