I Can See You

I can see you, you know
standing there
alone in the dark
in your underwear.
What made you wake
and to give you such fright?
Was it the double chocolate brownie
covered in marshmallow light?
Or was it the Doritos
eaten laden with sour cream?
Could it be the chocolate dipped strawberries
slathered in fresh whipped cream?
Or the super duper pizza
with the sausage and pepperoni
you ate with gusto
and never even told me?
Tell me my dear
why you stand there in the dark-
what woke you so bad
that it made the dog bark?
What was it you said
a-mumblin' and sheepish?
Can't hear you, sweet,
you sound a might peepish.
Oh my gosh!
And laugh out loud!
No wonder your stomach's distended!
You dreamt you ate a cloud!
Wait! Where's your pillow?
