Green Mother

Green Mother
As rich and moist and fragrant as the earth that bore her.
Ever ready to wrap her deep brown arms
Around us and fill us with her fertile love.
Our teacher, ever ready to plunge deep into our soil.
If necessary, to break up fallow ground
To show us the depth of our fertility.
And, as Mother Earth seeds, force our sprouts
Above ground to richly flower.
Eyes moon milk blue, in perfect rhythm with all encompassing
Wisdom,
The depths of which we may fathom when brave our heart and in
We dive.
