Rapture

Age Group: Adult
Drenched thigh-high in waters deep
measured by only proclamation
the birth of the child remains
seen with tattered soul's intent.
That a father could withstand
the abhorrent fleshed beatings
and the mother suffering lifelong
threats and remonstrations, queried.
"For whosoever is without sin
let him cast the first stone"
Or do we say, drown the witch
thou shall not suffer to live?
When all are one and yet none
do we give our lives for each other
or is the cosmos just a part of that
grand ol' cosmic opry bang?
And what is politically correct?
Or is it just another form of religious
malcontent and intolerance
that denies all what we are given from birth?
Or in hushed irreverent tones
is the ecstasy one feels in devotions
of rituals all that separates us
from each other?
Author's Notes: 9/26/04 - A prosed response to religious intolerance found in the most idyllic of places. And this is just my query, my opinion.....yet I welcome responses all.....
