I Am Home

Watching the sunrise in desert sky
I gave myself the promise
to touch on dreams of past's hidden
core and release fully my heart,
but as the rosy goldens touch
flowed over the stark sediment base
as a wave of warmth pursued,
I realised that I was home
where I wanted to be
and knew that the past and present
would soon collide to find my future.
I will not fight against the inevitable
but surrender all and more
to relinquish that last hold on
my old life and give way to the new,
for what I find now envelopes me
and transforms what was dross
into golden weavings within my heart -
a touch of sublime so unique as
to be a song sung as old as time
but much favored by all who possess
it's transcendence......
