Bubblegum Dreams....?

A soft curve of angelic smile
drips sweet bubblegum dreams,
the slight form rolls on bedding light
so sweet and silent, it seems.
Ah! These crackling and aching sounds
laid gently down to maternal'd slumber,
deepens to sighing echoes tone
amidst far-sounding thunder.
A cry pulls sleep-dusted eyes awake
as footpads sound to run,
a fling is all that finds the chance
to snuggle close and lick the darkened sun.
A-tangled in the web of deep sleep
the two portrayed to sweet surrender,
until dawn's bright and breaking light
pulls knarled tresses terror.
O, what is this that binds me down
and makes my tears full run?
It seems my hair is made a playground
for my daughter's big wad of bubble gum!
Author's Notes: 1/9/05 - Imagine my surprise in the morning at finding ABC (Already Been Chewed) Dubble Bubble Bubblegum wadded in my waist-long thick, curling hair...!
