In Willing Singly (Variation on Dryden)

In willing singly we effect the most;
For ever our will is in diffusion lost:
Restless we wander to a new desire,
And burn ourselves by blowing of the fire:
We toss and turn about our feverish will,
When all effect must come by patient skill:
For all the worldly change we can evince,
Is not in dreaming but in diligence.
Author's Notes: Another rework of a Dryden, this one redirects the subject to a specifically Pagan concern: working magick.
