Little Good Death

Little Good Death
(a prayer to restore harmony)
Life out of balance, life out of place,
Life flutters on from trace to trace;
A new body, a new face:
Let every life find its rightful place.
O Kindred, let there be no more trouble.
May you go back to the Mother for a good rebirth.
Author's Notes: This is a prayer appropriate whenever acts of stewardship require the taking of life: weeding, mowing, and reaping; the killing of pests and harmful insects; and the merciful killing of mortally wounded animals.

As a Naturalistic Pagan, I believe in evidence. There is no evidence that deities and magic are "real" in the most literal sense, but they may yet be moving and powerful. These poems are a tribute to the inspiration of Pagan ways.
