Sometimes...

Sometimes
I dream the past
Usually
I see the present
When the mood strikes
I know the future
I don't need to read minds
Sometimes
I can see into souls
There is no destiny
Certainly
No wheel of fate to which souls are spun
What needs to happen
Comes about
Free will is not an illusion
so much as a string of randomness
of apparent decisions and coincidences
that accelerate us along our paths
Sometimes
Toward the infinite
Sometimes
Toward perfection
The perfection is not in the end
It is not in the beginning or the middle
The perfection is in the act of journeying itself
Tread lightly but stand tall
Sing out proudly, but not too terribly loud
Sometimes
Others are still sleeping.
