Steps of Pain

Steps of Pain
Subdued candle light
set amongst the wilted bouquets
Lead you to the chamber
where your lover surely waits.
Laying in a pool of red
upon alabaster sheets
the lover that had waited
now permanently sleeps.
She sleeps and dreams of
pleasures found only in your kiss
of nights so full of pleasure and
days so full of bliss.
Now dont you feel foolish
and so carelessly remiss
you missed your chance of paradise
you missed your chance at this.
Your love no longer waits for you
no longer knows your name.
Now dont you wish you sped
up those infernal steps of pain?
