Trisha's Amazing Flying Underwear

by Anniekate

Age Group: Adult

Four little girls riding in the back,

Of their mother's car,

With their little flowered suitcases,

But not traveling very far.

Sleeping overnight at her house,

Seeing grandma and grandpa too,

The windows are completely down,

The breeze whipping hair all askew.

Trying to listen to the radio and,

Talk above the noise on the road,

Making faces and being quite silly,

Their poor mom they did goad.

Michelle and Trisha reached into their suitcases and,

Pulled out their underwear,

Waving it at passing cars and trucks,

Laughing at all the stares.

Trisha waving her flowered undergarment,

Against the fast moving breeze,

Her fingers lost their contact,

The panties now sailed free.

Sailing down the black topped highway,

Trisha's knickers no longer in sight,

Ann, Holly, Trisha, Michelle didn't care,

They laughed with all of their might.

Her bloomers may have landed,

On a truck or a car windshield,

Or flew on even further,

To land in a grass covered field.

We shall never know what happened to Trisha's underwear,

And that is really quite sad,

But mommy said she wasn't pulling over,

So that was just too darned bad!

Author's Notes: This poem is based on fact.

My mom and dad divorced when I was five, and my dad had remarried shortly thereafter. My dad had custody of my sisters and I, plus two step-brothers and one step-sister. We were never really allowed to be kids in our home, and my step-mom just tried to reign us in. I think it made it easier for her to control the situation with seven kids.

My poor mother, on the other hand, did allow us to let our hair down, and may have regretted it at times, having instances of us being really naughty with the results like the one in this poem.
