You crush it,
You break it,
You put it in a box and you
Hide it,
You twist it,
Since you don't understand
When some people
Don't make it
Into your narrow worldview
You turn your head
And close your heart
But it's not personal.
You close your eyes and
Your ears but
You always keep your mouth open.
Stumbling,
Blindly,
Thrashing in the dark,
Ever-fearing,
The monster
Is of your own invention.
You pine for our destruction
But it's not personal.
Your'e saying
"I'm above you,
Because I love you."
And you only want to
Save me.
The monster
Is of your own invention.
Won't suffer us to live,
But that doesn't make it personal.
It just got personal.
Author's Notes: While writing this, names flashed through my mind. I'm not going to say which names in particular, except I'll give you a hint on one. It rhymes with Bat Bobertson.
