The Charge of The Dark God: (Dis Pater)

by Chev. Rev. Brijdrix de Prytani - Sangraal
 Age Group: Adult

Invocation:
"Listen to the words of the Dark God, who of old was called of six names, as also by many other names."
Responsa:
"I am the shadow in the bright day. I am the reminder of mortality at the height of loving. I am the remembering of night where the Star Goddess danceth. I am the death that must be so that life may continue; For behold, Life is immortal because all living must die."
"I am the strength that protects, that also limits: I am the power that exclaims 'NO, ' and 'NO FURTHER, ' and No Is Strength. I am the things that cannot be spoken of, and I am the laughter at the edge of death."
"Come with Me into the storm enriching flow of feet, My chamber is in the hands, in the mouth, in the body of one you love -- and be transformed."
"Gather in the timeless night in unknown tongues; the Dark Mother as well as I will listen. Sing to Us and cry out, and the power will be yours to hold. Blow Me a kiss when the sky is dark and I will smile, but no kiss returneth: For My kiss is the final one for all mortal flesh."

Author's Notes: Nota Bene: The Charge of The Goddess, The Charge of The Star Goddess, The Charge of the God, and The Charge of the Dark God make up what we call The Quadricial Charges: Otherwise known as the Primary Invocations of Deity.
1. This piece, in our tradition, is dedicated to Dis Pater, a deity known to both the Gauls and the Romans.
2. Again it should be noted that as with Sullis; Dis Pater no more represents our primary concept of Deity.
3. Use this Invocation to ask for aid when one feels that one is being torn to shreds by those meaning to exterminate your existence or the existence of your loved ones. He does deliver indeed.
4. The Dark God, or Dis Pater, should in no means be any more representative of Satan, or any other deity of darkness, evil, or mischief -- He is an aspect of humanity we all can identify with and must face (much like embracing the energies of the Dark Moon mysteries) .
