Off The Beaten Path

My throat scratches,
aches with rituals as yet unsaid,
of prayers left fallow on my tongue;
I look, see how my world stretches,
how I can’t seem to get a grip
on ledges that my hands slip off, free;
my feet tread a Path I cannot
follow, toe by heel by toe,
till I can’t find my way home,
a home that’s already in view;
my shoulders ache and I feel
weight holding me down,
and on my back I conceive
tomorrow’s world.
Author's Notes: First off, my throat *is* sore. I have just been a little lack luster in the faith department, know I need to sit and meditate. Luckily, my Fiance has a meditation group I attend. =) ....It's one of those times where your life takes a break on the inside, y'know?
