Us Cannibals

Us Cannibals
People pray for miracles,
While still remaining cynical,
Bible or The Qur'an on one hand and the other fist in the air,
Preaching fire and brimstone,
They can save ya from the unknown,
Finding that most people didn't even seem to care,
Did this misbehavior,
Alienate their savior,
No one gets through the Gates of Heaven with a gun in their hand,
Oh, it's their misconception,
Answers can be weapons,
Their faith bought them a fictitious ticket to The Promised Land,
Put their tithings in a basket,
Wasted lifetimes in a casket,
Damned if they didn't find they were wrong all along,
So, blessed be us cannibals,
Knew we were only animals,
Others realized this, after everything they loved was gone,
Worshiping a Master,
Who promised them disasters,
In the Valley of Har-Mageddon as the prophecy foretold,
But their Gods were innocent,
It was only a coincidence,
Just the disenchanted hand of mankind playing out it's final role.
