Cream Style Corn

"Cream Style Corn"
I got no money in my pockets,
On my umpteenth pair of scavenged shoes,
Never gonna turn any kinda profit,
Life's left me thoroughly dazed and confused,
Sometimes I sit and wish that I'd never been born,
Beggin' for handouts, but gettin' only rusty cans of cream style corn,
Times have never been very easy,
Christ, it just goes from bad to worse,
Streets growing ever more seamy,
Cops come and tell us all to disperse,
Lost in this deep poverty feeling alone and forlorn,
Tomorrow's severely in doubt eating this ***ing cream style corn,
I'd love to sleep in a real bed,
If only for one single night,
I crash on the street instead,
Another evening of economic blight,
From the rich folks all I get is laughter, insults and scorn,
In the bottom of their garbage cans, more goddamn cream style corn,
I was told life could be at times would have bumps,
I think mine grow everyday,
Eating at the Restaurant de Garbage, aka, town dump,
I've become a trashcan gourmet,
But I can't believe all I find on this cold October morn,
More uneaten cans of that nasty cream style corn,
I hope that the other bums haven't eaten my stash,
Of moldy bread, month old cheese, salad dressing,
And half an open can of corn beef hash,
My taste buds have died but that's really a blessing,
Hoping beyond all hope that the weather will maybe turn warm,
So I don't have to eat another frozen can of cream style corn,
Well, things have gotten a little easier,
Now that a Majik Market moved onto this ugly scene,
Scored a job, but the cliental are pretty sleazy,
Come in for liquor and dirty magazines,
But I got no reservations about peddling them alcohol and hard core porn,
Long as it keeps me off the streets and away from that mother***ing cream style corn.
