The Will to Carry On

Age Group: Adult
A lullaby carried on the air coos my spirit
While out of a bowled leaf I drink the sky’s water
Earth is alive and blossoming
Then comes the fire of a myopic entity
Conformity, fear of its own ignorance, and shallowness
They all enshroud this entity
Submission feeds the fires hunger
Crumbled souls scatter from the flame
As it consumes all transcendentalists
Poisonous fangs slither thru the coals
Optimists are even beaten down and broken hearted
My own pulse grows weary
And yet I do not allow myself to give in
Submission of my spirit will never come to pass
Time and time again will entities of this sort
Try to coax me into what is socially acceptable
However, I hold the weapon and key to free myself
Free myself of this persecution:
Heart and will are what I posses.
