Full Moon Fever

Once each month it hits me,
And man, it sure hits strong.
I try vainly to ignore it..
I attempt to get along.
With everyone around me,
It’s like a stubborn itch.
I catch full moon fever,
And turn into such a…Witch.
With, ritual precision,
All high up in the sky.
She wanes and waxes for a cycle,
So very pleasing to the..I
Light the candles, pour the wine,
And sky clad I will go,
Around the circle, in the night,
To put on such a show..
Of respect for the mother,
The goddess so divine.
(All this dancing can be thirsty work, I’m glad I brung more wine!)
To fill the sacred chalice,
How the candles give new light..
To how powerful and close to her,
I feel this full moon night.
My “sacrifice” of wine and cakes
Will my solemn pledge renew.
To the wild and glorious Lady
And her virile Green Man too.
And now it has passed by again,
I store my mystic gown.
Until next month at this same time,
When the Lady and I get down.
