Dreaming of a Wild Ride

How strange it is for me to dream
Of a man I’ve never seen
A brilliant glow about his crown
I’m thinking of him even now
Ridding atop his friendly steed
Never have I touched his hand
Nor heard the voice of this man
Yet in my dreams he beckons me
To ride with him wild and free
As only deer and horses can
Dare I say with him I’d ride?
And leave reality far behind
Through golden fields and sparkling streams
Even if only ever in my dreams
Yes, I say, with him I’d ride.
