Little spi-dar, small like a pin drop
diminutive legs reaching to
pass each fuzz of my skin and
looking, searching
for I know not what
I laid my hand before you on
the white round table shaded by
the red-white umbrella, led you
onto my left hand
insectoid-creature, arachnid
and to think I’ve fear’d your specie
But it was just in me that I had to hold you
today, and so – I took
out my sheaf of paper, though, while
you crawled – yet you disappeared
before I’d written a single word to describe
our mysterious, momentous friendship
