Ode to Air
by Rhiannon Dragonraine
Age Group: Adult
Summer's warm caress
yet Winter's chilling breath
gently blowing breeze whispering by
or great gusty gales blown from on high
you move through the branches of the trees
you aid the flight of birds and bees
you dance in every direction
over landscapes both warmed and frozen
you make our life viable
as with the other elements you mingle
Air; We breath you in
and let your inspiration take root within
Dawn and New beginnings
Creativity to pull our heartstrings
You are the basis for our living
for your precious presence is life giving
The wonder of the first gasp at birth
through out our lives, your many blessings we unearth
How wonderous you are; we feel it in every breath
until at last we reliquish you;
as our final exhalation,
When we welcome Death.
