Expecting
by babydragonfinder

A shiver
A palpitation
A thrill
Pure excitement
event felicity
why do those not come to me?
I grab something,
perhaps in fear of keeping my hands free.
I would let go but I seem to wait
looking around, expecting?
Maybe just not free...
Now, late night, hot night,
void is what comes to me,
unexpected but not unwelcome,
I have had to learn how to deal with thee.
Passive, unwilling, distant,
I know I didn't use to be.
But now void seems
the only certainty...
At least it kept me company since long ago,
from the time words,
papers, some photos
and mostly memories
is what I can expect to see.
Time is guilty,
it is indeed,
I didn't charge it
but itself will plea.
I know because time passing
is also something close to me.
