Underneath the willow

Age Group: Teen
Underneath the willow tree I stand
I call this willow my home
In the rain my willow sways
Back and forth back and forth
She shades me from the storm outside
She is my mother, my goddess
She is part of the earth that feeds me
It is from the river near her that I drink
My bed lay high in her branches
So the beasts that roam the dark nights
Don’t swallow me in my sleep
She has become my friend
But she lives among rows and rows
Of willows like herself
So I must find myself a mate
To share my willow with
A mate to love me
One to love
Come to me dark man
Man of strength, power and wisdom
Man who wears his metal close to his chest
Soon we will make love
And share us a many cakes and ale
Join me young sir
Underneath the willow
Author's Notes: The earth has blessed us with many things, but one thing all humans strive for is Companionship.
