I'm tired, I feel like a joke
Trying to live, but I feel I'm only going to choke
on life, on living, on dying too
because that's what I do, always changing but never
to see it happen. Just suffocate, transform hue
like autumn leaves before they fall, so red-to-purple I'm blue
A human caricature, I carry on with to-do's
Check them off my list as I lose sleep for whom-
ever asks for me to do more, to do this, do that again
Trite tasks that take my mind away
from who I am, and where I can go, on cue
Another cycle is soon to end, but where will I be
Shoveled below society's faults and my own misgivings
I will keep trying to breathe, to inhale, to look around
but my blind eyes keep me bound, safe in denial
trying to find a knot to loosen
Author's Notes: I wrote this because of all the pressure in my life, the hoplessness I feel towards my personal life and with my job hunt and graduating college (Dec. 18) , the pointlessness of my job (I'm a title, and I sit here while people ignore me) , how my life just seems to be moving without me (not much I can affect just now) , been really busy with class work and at work (so no time - yet, since I realize I'll go psycho if I don't get some - for myself) ... My way of coping right now is to deal with whatever "it" is as it comes.
I'm sure I'll post something happier than this next time. :p
