Daddy's Advice

When I was just a little girl, troubled by some night time fear,
My daddy would hold me close & whisper in my ear,
"There'll be sunshine in the morning, love. Just sleep on it tonight.
There'll be comfort in the morning, child. Everything will be alright."
His words, they always calmed me, as I drifted off to sleep,
He was my loving shepard, & I his little sheep.
Through many pains of growing up, my dad would counsel me,
"There'll be sunshine in the morning, love. Just sleep on it tonight.
There'll be comfort in the morning, child. Everything will be alright."
Now daddy can't be w/ me, to calm my fears at night,
Or gently rock my hurts away, till they are out of sight.
Yet how I long for daddy's arms to chase the hurt away,
To hold my tightly once again, sweet words to hear him say,
"There'll be sunshine in the morning, love. Just sleep on it tonight.
There'll be comfort in the morning, child. Everything will be alright."
My father, Goddess now listens, Her presence will assure,
Of peace & comfort, love & hope, & I will rest secure.
