Why?

Age Group: Adult
I look at her there in the baby-bed,
Her hair so black, her face so red.
She's tossing & turning & screaming & yelling,
While in the midst her arm is swelling.
Becuase of the needles & tubes that are there,
That keep her heart under constant care.
The Angel of mercy is drawing near,
I look in her eyes, & see so much fear.
I see it one minute, & then it's gone,
This tiny childs life is over & done.
And though this poem may not be your choice,
Someone had to speak up, & be this childs voice.
Someone has to tell you her mothers mistake,
The one so many very young mothers make.
You see, when the baby was young & still in the womb,
Her mother decided to build her a tomb.
She took a glass pipe, & some crack in her hand,
And sent her baby to the Heavenly land!
