Grandpa- My Guardian Angel

So many memories I have of you,
Of all the things we used to do.
There are so many things w/ you I shared,
Wheather small or big, I know you cared.
I remember many times upon your knee,
The packages of Oreo's you'de share w/ me.
You told of many days gone past,
The stories for me, often ending too fast.
Grandpa, you meant the world to me,
Then one day you were set free.
I stood by your hospital bed as you laid in pain,
We knew on this earth you could not remain.
No more pain, sorrow or strife,
You lived a happy, loveing life.
I saw you there, so beautiful at rest,
Your hands crossed upon your chest.
You looked so peaceful & calm,
The Goddess had taken you in Her palm.
A Guardian Angel I layed on your shoulder that day,
To keep you in memory as I would pray.
Dear Goddess I have a favor to ask of you this day,
Once I had a Grandpa, but you took him away.
You must have had your reason for takeing my Grandpa home,
I try to understand decisions made by You alone.
Now to get back to my favor Goddess, if You could find a way,
To let him know I love him, & think of him each day.
He hasn't been forgotten by those he left behind,
He lives on in our memories, our hearts, our souls, our mind.
But he shall never leave me, in my heart he'll live inside,
So he's never really left me, & to me he's never died.
For now I have my memories, to remind me of his love,
Until the day comes when, I'll rest w/ him above!
