Tragedy

Screeching brakes, a tragic sound,
A horrified crowd gathering around.
Screams upon the shattered air,
A mother sobbing in despair.
A childs body in the street,
The sound of many running feet.
A siren wailing far away,
Several people start to pary.
The child was quick, you were not,
For one short secound you forgot.
That sometimes children do not look,
Just one swift move, was all it took.
When next you get into your car,
Wheather traveling near or far,
Watch for children as you drive,
Keep them safe & alive.
Don't look down to change a tape,
A child may just be tempting fate,
Running on his tiny feet,
Back & forth across the street.
