The Farmers Wife

The farmers wife, I'm telling you,
Never runs out of things to do.
With chickens to feed, cows to milk,
She wears blue jeans, instead of silk.
With eggs to gather, wash & case,
She scarcely has time to wash her face.
She's nurse to the calves, pigs & cats,
In spare time she poisons the rats.
There's feed to help grind, badding to do,
The garden & lawn to look after too.
There are bills to pay, & records to keep,
If the jobs not done, she's in trouble deep.
Pigs & cattle are bound to get out,
Chaseing them keeps her healthy & stout.
With livestock & chickens, there's no doubt in it,
The farmers wife never has a dull minute.
The housework is still to be done,
If she's lucky, she may have some fun.
She has a good life, & feels she is blest,
When she has a minute to sit down & rest.
