My Mother

by MysticIvy
 Age Group: Adult

Who fed me from her gentle breast,
And hushed me in her arms to rest,
My Mother!
Who sat & watched my infant head, when sleeping in my cradle bed,
And tears of sweet affection shed,
My Mother!
When pain & sickness made me cry,
Who gazed upon my heavy eye,
My Mother!
Who ran to help me when I fell,
And kissed the part to make it well,
My Mother!
Who taught my infant lips to pray,
To love thy Goddess in every way,
My Mother!
How many prayers for each little bed,
How many tears for her babes has she shed,
My Mother!
Who when I was faced w/ sorrow & fears,
Felt your guiding love thru the years,
My Mother!
Who was cheering, & endearing in her loveing ways, & smiles,
Who cared for me & shared w/ me my sorrows & my trials,
My Mother!
Who's kiss is like a summer rose,
That dries my tears, & sadness go's,
My Mother!
Who do I place my affairs in her loveing hands,
When my problems she knows, & my needs she understands,
My Mother!
Who's flesh of her flesh, bone of her bone,
Who looks like her now, when she has grown,
My Mother!
Who somehow seems to read my mind,
Who's just right words are always kind,
My Mother!
Who never trys to analyze,
Those sudden actions, not too wise,
My Mother!
Who's hands was always there held out,
When I was confused, & full of doubt,
My Mother!
Who gave me room so I could grow,
And when I was wrong never said, "I told you so, "
My Mother!
Who never ceased to love me thru the years,
And continues to share w/ me her love, pain & tears,
My Mother!
Who though I wonder through all her pain,
Could lift me up, & ease my pain,
My Mother!
Who has for me always prayed,
When I myself was too afraid,
My Mother!
Who has always been my best friend,
When no one else could I depend,
My Mother!
Who at times when I was unaware,
Stood by my side & is always there,
My Mother!
Who for nineteen years has always loved me,
And knew when it was time to set me free,
My Mother!
Who when I had doubts could call,
Weather spring, summer, winter or fall,
My Mother!
Who would give me the time,
To read & understand this silly rhyme,
My Mother!
From whom will I never part,
With love to whom I give my heart,
My Mother!
When no matter how far we are from each other,
It's because I'll always need & love you,
My Mother!
