Fishing Trip

A fishing pole, a can of worms, a young girl & her dad,
Bring back memories to me, of good times that we had.
When dad & I together, in the times now past,
Would fish in all the lakes & streams, for crappie & bass.
So many happy hours, dad & I have seen,
While sitting w/ our fishing poles, beside a tiny stream.
If only we could do once more, the things we used to do,
I would be so happy, & I know dad would too.
So I'll make one request oh' Goddess, please grant my humble plea,
Just one more fishing trip I pray, for dear 'ole dad & me.

Author's Notes: Dad & I could spend hours fishin'... we may not have always caught the big fish on the lake that day, but we shared so many special memories, & for that I wouldn't even have traded for the record breaking bass. ; )
