My Precious Child

When I was yet a wee small child, & hurt myself at play,
My mom would take me on her knee, & kiss the hurt away.
Well time has come full circle, I've three kids of my own,
And my baby Jacob, was hardly even grown.
When in his fifth summer, the Lord was so unkind,
Greedy God he took the best, & left us here behind.
I never knew a broken heart, could pain my soul so much,
I only wish this kind of hurt, would flee at mothers touch.
I see her now w/ tear filled eyes, she feels my agony,
Since she can't kiss my hurt away, she shares my grief w/ me.

Author's Notes: Loseing someone is never easy, when a parent losses a child, the pain can be more then they can bare at times. I wrote this after the lose of my son, & there were many angry feelings. Sometimes we may never know why we lose loved ones such as a child so soon, but I try to remind myself there spirit lives on & someday I will be w/ him again.
